The Order of The Good Death

GOP Death Culture

Oh shit.  Well we can file this under terrifying.

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer asked Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), one of the participants and a staunch enemy of President Obama’s health plans, what should be done if, for instance, a sick, 30-year-old man without health insurance suddenly became gravely ill.

“(And) he needs intensive care for six months. Who pays?,” Blitzer asked the congressman.

“That’s what freedom is all about,” Paul responded. “Taking your own risks.”

“But congressman, are you saying that society should just let him die?,” Blitzer insisted.

At this point the 1,000 Tea Party activists gathered at the Florida State Fairgrounds for the debate erupted in laughs and cheers: “Yeah! Yeah! Society should just let him die,” they gleefully said.

OK, so, let’s just be sure not to confuse the loudmouthed shouts of these fringe morons with Dr. Paul’s actual message that government subsidized health care funnels money into the medical-industrial complex and state-sponsored insurance programs, which are laden with red tape and wasteful spending.  And let’s not forget that while ending things like state sponsored health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare are important parts of the freedom doctrine, the #1 item on a future President Paul’s agenda would be dismantling our worldwide empire, stopping the wars, and bringing our troops home.

You know, they say that blog posts that include mention of “Ron Paul” get significantly more comments.
