The LA Coroner’s Office released Whitney Houston’s autopsy report, you can find it HERE.
It’s a fascinating read, not because it’s scandalous or gross, but because it provides really interesting insight into how a coroner’s investigation is done from start to finish. Well, at least how it’s done in a high profile case where they know everyone will be checking and double-checking their work.
Reader Christina asked why Whitney Houston’s autopsy report mentions “skin slippage” over and over again. Skin slip happens naturally in the decomposition process. The top layer of skin separates and can fill with fluid underneath or just “slip” off. Usually it takes several days, but the super high temperature of the water Whitney was in (for almost an hour) would drastically speed up the process. This is why people who die in bathtubs are never that fun to work on. Real talk.
