This is a fantastic video made by National Public Radio about our world’s recent crossover into 7 billion people.
If you like Ask a Mortician, you’ll like the clear, concise way this is explained.
I think about the world’s growing population the way a mother thinks about getting her daughter a new dress. If the girl goes into the backyard and soils and rips the dress, her mother will say, “See! And that’s why you can’t have nice things!” Human beings are like nice things. Until we have the resources and ability to take care of the ones we have, we shouldn’t be creating so many new ones. 7 billion people, many living in poverty, is why you can’t have nice things, Earth.
